AARNet has formally launched an Australian software defined networking (SDN) testbed linking researchers in nine universities and Data61 — the merged NICTA/CSIRO Digital Productivity unit — with grant funding from the Australian Research Council.

Telstra to trial LoRaWAN IoT wireless technology in Melbourne

Telstra is to trial a new wireless technology in the Melbourne CBD, designed specifically for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The network will be used to support its IoT Challenge, being run in conjunction with the City of Melbourne, where contestants develop and demonstrate IoT applications.

Huawei pushes to transform telcos into digital service providers

Australian Government set to tackle Internet of Things
