I have been reporting, analysing and commenting on developments in information technology and telecommunications for more than 30 years.
Today I contribute to a number of IT publications and websites, run a news site on IoT in Australia and undertake corporate writing projects on a wide range of technology issues for numerous clients.
Please contact me for a full resume and samples of my work.
For more than 20 years I edited and published subscription newsletters covering telecommunications policy, industry and technology developments in Asia Pacific.
My writing is underpinned by qualifications and experience in both technology and communications: a Higher National Certificate (UK) in electronic engineering and a postgraduate certificate in technical education from the University of London.
Before taking up journalism I worked on electronics systems for the offshore oil industry in the UK, the Middle East and Nigeria and taught electronics in technical college in the UK. After moving to Australia I spent several years training maintenance technicians on IBM compatible mainframe computers.
In 2010 I received a Lifetime Achievement Award for my work in IT journalism and was made a Life Member of the Telecommunications Society of Australia.
I have been named Telecommunications Journalist of The Year by the Australian Telecommunications Users Group, twice, and by the Service Providers Industry Association.
